WHO IS IN THE ATELIER?

Atelier Septembre is an online salon combining art, fashion, design, and eclectic vintage collectables.

Studies in fine art, fashion design, beauty, styling experience, an obsessive lust for fine details, unusual textiles, furniture, vintage fashion, contemporary art and eccentric home staging have fuelled this online collective.

Every garment is carefully hand made in the atelier, often cut from vintage and dead-stock fabrics, reusing and reinventing vintage embellishments and repurposing them in a contemporary way. Limited styles will be dictated by the volume (or scarcity) of the design, the complexity, or the unique customisation of the garment . All pieces are carefully and skilfully hand made, designed to be just as magnificent, even when they are turned inside out (and left on the floor…).

There are no shortcuts, these pieces are slow fashion made to last, each one made using a specialised reconditioned vintage sewing machine, most likely from 1946.

Artworks vary from finely detailed graphite pencil portraits, figurative sketches in conte to colourful contemporary oil abstracts highlighting layers of paint pigments and intriguing textural surfaces.

Original art, unusual antiques, and the perfect vintage accoutrements are added to the salon as made or sourced, this is an evolving love project, with heart and soul mixed in.
